| Our Chuch at Work in the Community |
|
As a congregation we participate actively within our community in a variety of ways: There is a generous response whenever there is a genuine need for practical help whether it be for casseroles for families where there is illness, handyman jobs that need to be done for the elderly, help is always readily available. We are also very involved in “Loaves and Fishes” a group set up by the churches of Portland to provide help for those in difficult circumstances.

Practical help to those in the community who, because of age or circumstances, have difficulty undertaking household maintenance can receive assistance. A specially equipped trailer with a wide range of tools can often be seen on the Portland streets or outside homes where needy clients have asked for assiatance.
A team of of active and effective volunteer handymen provide the manpower for this service. It is available through Loaves and Fishes
